A clogged EGR valve can cause loss of power on the x-type diesel. The best thing to do is to remove the valve and clean out all the carbon that will have built up inside the valve and re-fit. Also check your air filter

This is causes by either a defective injection pump or low fuel pressure in a digital injected diesel. If it does have digital injection you must have the system scanned for fault codes and the fuel pressure tested for proper PSI

jaguar x-type 2ltr diesel 2004 the glow plug warning light flashing, was told dirty fuel on fault code all fuel changed and filters. No problems for 20 miles untill engine was put under power on high revs went into limp mode, warning light glow plug falshing again? any ideas thanks.

Jaguar X type 2.2 diesel stuttering

Had difficulty pulling away from a car park, massive loss of power resulted in car stalling when applying throttle and huge greyish smoke. I now beleive that this is the problem the resulted in the abrupt car stalling on motorway thankfully on the slow lane. It just stopped dead. What caused this

Sound like you are looseing some boost from your turbo,check all your hoses from your turbo,if all of them are ok you may have a waste gate sticking, you need to check for movement there it only move very little but has alot to do with hp.Thanks And I hope this helps you

Same problem on mine was a block fuel filter (quite common). About £70 fitted by main dealer. I'd stay away from whoever told you the above and get a second opinion!

Have the fuel injectors cleaned out possibly they have a blockage causing both the lose in power and warning light
