My heat is not working in my car either. Please help me figure out what I should be looking to buy. I 've replaced two thermostats. One Coolant Temp Sensor
Check the sensor which controls the cooling fans that cools the radiator it prevents the engine from over heating and allows the temp gauge to stay at normal range.recently had problems with my 2003 impala overheating it was the sensor had the thermostat replace as well.
If i understand right, you car is basically over heating but your heater blows outside temp. if thats the case your water pump might be out and no water is circulating.
Open hood while car is COLD add antifreeze till its to the top of the neck of opening start car wait till reachs operating tempature add more antifreeze keep cap off turn the heater on to full heat wait a few and add more to the radiator add antifreeze to coolent container to where it reads hot then replace cap take car around the block and let cool down look at coolent container and see where the coolent level is at now should read normal of not open cap make sure that the antifreeze is at the top of the neck of radiatior and add more to the coolent container drive around a few and park let cool down watch tempature gauge you should see it back to normal again
