How do you Replace the cabin air filter in 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse? I was told it was behind the glove box, but cannot figure out how to get the glove box off.
U should be able to sqeeze the sides of the glove just far enough to get past the stops of the glove box. then u should see the access to the filter

It's not behind the glove box. it is in the center of the car directly under the radio by the heater core. I have an 03 also and just replaced all of the a/c system so I found it while looking for the expansion valve.
2003 Eclipse was not originally equipped with a cabin air filter, so unless it has been retrofitted, there is not one in there. However, you should install a cabin air filter by cutting out the rectangular molded plastic cover which is located directly behind the glove box so that leaves & other organic debris do not clog the cond. water outlet. As you may know, if the a/c condensation outlet gets clogged, water will fill the floorboard on the driver's side. Buy the cabin air filter, cut out the area behind the glove box (after removing 4 screws holding in a big flat cover) and install the cabing air filter with 2 screws. May need to use some silicone sealer to keep air from leaking around cover if it sounds like it's leaking.
