Need some help diagnosing a problem with hooking up a stereo in a 2003 Ford F150. I think the wiring is crossed, but I am not sure how to tell.

Norman, The ABS light is telling you there is a fault in the Anti Lock Braking system, could be faulty wire/plug,sensor, leaking/stuck wheel cylinder/caliper, etc. The computer in your vehicle will have to be scanned to find the fault, diagnosed and estimate repair. Mike, Check for diagnostic codes. Check fuses/relays,wires/plugs for pinched,damage or corrosion. Could be a lot of things like distributor armature, cap, rotor, stator, ICM, coil,spark plugs,wires, make sure ground is good to distributor. i wont tell you that its unsafe but ill help you fix the problem

go to the electronic store such as Best Buy or simuliar and buy the wire harness that plugs in the factory plug in and then just connect the same color wires to the stereo wire harness

1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 The rotor turns counter-clockwise. Make sure to keep #7 and #8 spark plug wires separated. The 5.0L had a problem with 7 and 8 cross-firing because they fire so close to each other. Ford changed the firing order on that engine, in later years , because of that reason. Hope this helps ya... Cobra :-)

This should help you with more then just the constant power wire, good luck.

The firing order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.

check your ground on your stereo.. make sure you are making a good conection
