I have a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter that won't idle

I have a '97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 liter. It suddenly decided not to idle. Using the accelerator pedal to keep it over 800 rpm's, it runs just fine. Driving around, so long as I keep my foot on the accelerator, it runs very well. When I let up off the pedal, it idles down and dies. Is there a quick easy fix?

Check your throtle postition sensor. It monitors what postion the throtle is at and sends that info to the ecm. It will go bad and cause that problem.

97 jeep grand cherokee laredo had sudden loss electrical power no lights, instruments, ignition nothing at all checked battery -12.7vdc checked fuses - ok

Well if your battery and fuses check out fine the next thing i would suggest would be to make sure all your battery cables are good and snug, both at the battery side, and the vehicle side.
