Volvo s60 is still misfiring at 3000-4000 rpm. I changed the spark plugs and checked the coils and fuel injectors all good. Can't seem to find the problem. Any help! Also, my check engine light turns off but *** is still boging out at 3-4 rpm.

sounds like you need new spark plug wires, when removed any spark plug wires when replacing spark plugs were any of them wet with oil

Has anyone checked your "rev limiter" ? It is a sensor that will not allow you to "rev" your engine past a cetain RPM.
It is usually only "on" when you are in PARK, but it is something to consider.
Please let me know what you find.

My vehicle volvo s60 has a misfire, whats the solution ?Is it common with these cars?

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

It's common on all cars specially when years passes by. As a first course of action have the fuel injectors checked. There can be clogged injectors that's why you have misfires. Replacing the spark plugs and plug wires can help too.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Vovo 2003 s60 , I feel engine vibrates on low RPM that is when not prissin the gas , RPM always goes less than it should stay , about 600 to 400 RPM for 2-3 seconds then it goes to normal ! I changed fuel...

no, you shouldnt have to clean it every week. it sounds like your pcv system is clogged. you have to replace the pcv box and hoses. and clean out all of the gunk clogging up the ports in the block. and it is probably a good idea to replace the intake manifold gaskets and the injector seals. also there is a banjo bolt on the bottom of the intake manifold that gets clogged up so clean the banjo bolts and all attached hoses

I just changed the spark plugs in my Volvo s60 T5 and the check engine light still reads cylinder 3 misfires. What should I do?

Hi:
This fault could be a spark plug wire too, and even a coil pack, or distributor component. Keep up the hunt for the problem!

Misfire on #3

Re: 2000 Volvo S40 L4 1.9 Liter L4 1.9 Liter Turbo FI

Are you consider yourself a handy person?

Swap the coil and see is the misfire going to follow to another bank of cylinder.

You has total of 3 coil in your engine.

Do a detail record map and switch the two coils.

A replacement aftermarket coil is oil $46 w/one year warranty and $55 will get you a life time warrent coil.

Do the swap and see what happen.

A leaky/failing injector can also cause the same problem.

Do a Chevron Techron fuel injector clean ran and highway ran.

Good luck

Change sprks plugs on volvo S60 2.4 t ......

Did you set the plug gap correctly?Improperly gapped plugs will cause the spark to be to cold or to hot and can cause misfire of the fuel wich would explain the vibration, this could also be caused by the wrong heat range on the plug.Check what spark plugs Volvo reccomends and the gap.

2001 volvo s60 2.4 turbo misfire

  • Faulty coil (pack)
  • Faulty camshaft position sensor
  • fuel filter and fuel
  • the p0300 car's computer has detected that one of the engine's cylinders is not firing p0301 In this case it's cylinder #1.p0302 In this case it's cylinder #2.and so on i would check the three listed above first then check
  • Faulty spark plugs or wires
  • Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
  • Faulty or plugged fuel injector
  • Burned exhaust valve
  • Faulty catalytic converter(s)
  • Stuck/blocked EGR valve
  • Defective computer Random misfires that jumps around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak that may be a broken hose or in the intake manifold (gasket, spary aruond it with wd40 or starer fluid if the engine idle goes high theres your problem) or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open. hope this helps

I have a Volvo S40, I've changed the wires that connect to the spark plugs; I put new iriduim plugs in, added fuel injection cleaner and the car continues to misfire. I hate to take it to my local Volvo...

You may have a bad ignition coil or possibly a bad coolant temp. sensor. You can check for a bad coil by removing the covers for the plugs and gently lift the individual spark plug wires from the plugs while the engine is running. With the wires lifted off the plugs a small amount you should hear the spark making a ticking noise. If you lift it to far it could seriously shock you so be carefull.

If it's a bad temp. sensor the dealer will have to monitor the sensor and check it with a non conotact thermometer to verify it is correct.
