What is happening? When pressing the automatic lock two lights start flashing. One blue light under the steering wheel one red light on the dash which is a picture of a car with a key across it. We have two questions. 1. Are these two lights suppose to blink? 2. Will it run down our battery. Any help you can give us will help.
Don't worry I'm sure you will get the solution of your problem, just check the link I attached

SOURCE: Red blinking warning light beside clock in center of dash. What is it?
This is the factory installed "Security" light. It blinks to let you know that the security system is active, and to ward off potential theives. It's part of the factory anti-theft system. Also, it is a diode, and consumes virtually no battery power.
Normal condition; nothing to worry about.
SOURCE: prius warning light is blinking
This is the security indicator light. Designed to alert potential theives that the alarm is active. It is a L.E.D. lamp, and will not drain the aux battery. Nothing to worry about, this is normal. Hope this helps, and Thanks for choosing FixYa!

Roll down the drivers side window. Close the door. Turn the key to the On position but not cranking. Let it sit there for ten minutes with the key on. After ten minutes turn the key off and then try to start the car. I hope this helps.

is it because your not at a stop?
SOURCE: won't start after cleaning battery terminals
Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm with starter disable. By disconnecting the battery the alarm reset and the defualt setting is usually to set the alarm automatically (active arming). You have three options..
A. If you have the key fob that went with the alarm you can disarm the alarm.
B. If no key fob is available you can disconnect the battery again, turn the ignition key to the on position and reconnect the battery. This usually doesn't allow the alarm to set and allows the car to start.
C. Remove the aftermarket alarm system. This is usually the long term fix i recommend if the fob isn't available. Option B should get you going though.
