I have a 1998 Chevy 1500 4x4 I am haveing problems with the 4X4 when i push the button in the cab the 4hi just blinks and won't enguage but the differential actutor seems to be working,so what else could it be?

Try disconnecting your battery for 30 min. After reconnecting battery turn ignition back and forth 7 times. This is a Chevy problem known as logic lock. this is engaged to let you know that there may be a bigger problem at hand and the computer wants you to get it looked at.
