I am trying to locate the fuel filter for my 1984 chevy s10 it has the 2.8

Carburetor

1984 Dodge Truck Ramcharger 2WD 5.2L 2BL 8cyl

The Fuel Filter is located:Under hood, passenger side, upper engine area, mounted in fuel line

You may have a mechanical fuel pump, usually located at front lower part of engine. Follow fuel line back from Carburetor. If fuel injected, it will be in gas tank.

If memory serves me correctly that it the "Tech4" throttle body injection system.The fuel filter is located in the engine compartment. on the drivers side by the fire wall.

I never worked on one but I will try to help you. The fuel line runs from the engine to the bottom of your vehicle then to the fuel tank. You should see it if you follow the fuel line. Once you see it I think you would need some open end wrenches to replace it.

First, release the fuel pressure by opening the fuel filler door. Then you replace it by squeezing the quick release plastic clip on the front and sliding the fuel line forward; you then use a wrench to loosen the nut on the back. Be prepared for some gas spillage with a container or some old rags. Once it is loosened, you remove it from its bracket, replace it, hook it back up (reverse of what you did) and it should be good to go.

79 is carbureted...There is a 5/8" nut fitting on the end of the fuel line at the carb inlet. Use a 1" wrench to hold the nut on the carb fitting and a flair nut wrench to remove the smaller line nut. Then remove the 1" one. The fuel filter is right behind the 1" one. Be careful to keep it straight when replacing it. The carb metal is soft and strips out easily. Don't loose any seal rings there either.

84 celibrity has a carborater and the filter is in the carb. where the fuel line connects to it. Follow this metal line down past the timing cover and the other end screws into the fuel pump thats connected to the side of the engine block near the oil pann gasket on the belt drive end of the engine it has some brackets surounding it for the power steering pump and it's hard to get to and lots of other stuff needs to be removed to get to it. When their bad they leak oil too and sometimes they leak gas into the oil.

the fuel filter is located in the gas line inlet to the carb.
