Car shuts off when driving for a while, this could be a bad crank sensor. but the sensor should set a problem code, have car scanned. if you do not have a scanner, any auto parts place will scan for free.if car shuts off when driving down road then a bad crank sensor will cause this. good luck toolman,

this is toolman, camshaft sensor will give same results, so the codes are:po 340 and po344 is cam sensor, po335, 341,342 is crankshaft sensor. first make sure fuel filter is ok.

2006 Envoy stalling when idels and won't stay running

Clean your Throttle body and pay attention to the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve passageway to try to clean the IAC. A dirty or faulty IAC will cause your engine to stall at idle, the job of the IAC is to open the passage way through the throttle body to regulate the amount of air to enter the engine to keep it from stalling when the Envoy is at idle.

Start with the simple and clean the throttle body and inspect any loose or damaged wire leads to the throttle body. Replace or repair any signs of damage.

Thank you for using Fixya and good luck.

Check your IAC motor (Idle Air Control) It could be sticking open.
Ps. Might be called Idle Speed Control motor it depends on the make and i forget what chevy calls theres.

94 GMC SAFARI IDLE FAST RUN FINE BUT WHEN DRIVE IF YOU PUSH GAS SLOWLY DRIVE FINE ; IF YOU FLOOR IT ] IT STALLS

First thing to check is the fuel filter. It is likely getting clogged and starving the engine for fuel under heavy load.
