check the ignition coil or coil pack of their resistance, primary must have 1.0 ohm to 0.5 ohms(tolerable). secondary are between 900 ohms to 12,000 ohms
If it was running fine, till you replace the valve cover gasket, then fuel pump and filter is not the trouble, check make sure all elec. wires are connected, ground wires also.
If its a 4 cyl, its right below the computer on the driver side when you open the hood. Just behind the radiator. It attaches to the transmission bellhousing. On a V6, not sure but probably close to 4 cyl location. Not too bad to replace on a 4.
You have an EGR valve. For a specific location I recommend the Haynes repair Manual on your vehicle. This manual will also giving you testing procedures for testing the EGR valve.

It's a valve not a sensor.
Where? it depends what engine do you have 4 cyl 6 cyl?
How do you know the EGR valve could be bad? check engine light on? OBD code? diagnostic made?

The thermostat is located at the upper radiator hose end of the engine. The hose will connect to a housing that will have to be removed in order to change the thermostat.
While you have the thermostat housing removed, make sure you flush the old coolant out and replace with new.
