The best way to find out if you have a burnt valve is to do a compression test. The cylinder that has low or no compression will be the one that has the burnt valve. If the intake valve is bad the car would backfire through the intake. Pull your sparkplugs and check the compression, you can buy a compression tester at most any car parts store.

Can too much oil in my car cause white smoke to pour out muffler

Absolutely yes in spades. Also it can cause internal damage to the engine if not corrected right away. Also check the engine air filter as it may be full of oil along with the plastic box that it is in.

I want two run two and half pipes out with to mufflers not the one muffler set up I was told I loose gas miles and it wouldn't run right its 03sierra is it true

Probably because this model of truck requires back pressure. Back pressure is used to properly seat valves on closing in engine cycles from intake to exhaust cycles. All vehicles require some back pressure. I would check with a custom truck shop.

My muffler for toyota get hot and red

Are you sure its the muffler....or is it the catalytic converter? It is not normal for wither to get cherry red - this usually means that you have raw fuel being burned in the exhaust stream. This is usually due to a burnt exhaust valve.

How could I tell if my 3406E engine has a burnt valve

Hold a piece of paper to cover exhaust it should move in and out like it does when you hold it against your mouth and breath if it stays out steady you have a burnt valve or just hold foot on the brake and apply a little braking force and press gas like power braking if it stumbles it's probably a burnt valve

Muffler gets to hot

Is engine running OK? If so and the muffler is an economy muffler, take it back to where you had it installed and see what they will do for you. If the engine IS NOT running right , it may be running to lean and tat causes an overly hot exhaust system. You may need to have the engine diagnosed for performance issues.

There is a small hole at the back bottom of a new muffler for my 2003 Cavalier. I'm told this is a venting hole that now comes with all mufflers. Is this true?

yep its true !! take my word for it its to release moisture that build up during cold starts that use to get trapped in the exhaust and cause early failures of mufflers and pipe

Shaky engine and muffler had a weird sound

Probably just a dead spark plug or wire. Replace them and see if it quits. My guess is that it will. If not, you may have a burnt valve, or the timing belt has jumped a cog, and will have to be replaced.

Have 302 w/ mustang header and seem to have lost power

If you have strong valve springs they shouldnt be floating... What kind of mufflers? They could be adding backpressure, Id go with a straight through mufler.
