When the trans. sticks itself in 2nd gear and stays there is because it's detecting a trans. problem and puts itself in "limp in" mode. When it happens again, to somewhere to have a scan done on the trans. so you can find out which sensor on the trans. is acting up.

Mine fell off twice so far once when going through snow and other was going through rainstorm had to use jack wrench to pry down and slip on belt which was hard to do and don't advise you to try. Ok the pulley directly under the alternator and in the middle of 3 other pulleys is the one that is the tensioner. To do this right use a 15 millimeter or 5/8 socket or open end wrench, the longer the handle the better so you can get good leverage maybe you have a pipe to slide over handle. those sensors could cause the issue, clean the MAF 1st, also clean the idle system using the following procedure, the IAC can cause cruise surge. I use this to cure these problems all the time.
Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve (IAC) and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

The PO562 is merely a low voltage code. Tranny codes are 700's. It is possible your brakes are dragging and that's forcing a downshift early; hoist it up and check for freewheeling, but I would take it to a reputable tranny shop. Believe it or not, you can ask your Mopar dealer for a recomendation; most dealers do sublet some of their tranny jobs out to independents, esp their used cars. Keep the faith.
