I had this on my ES330 and spent a year trying to solve it. I was driving away from work and my friend yelled at me to stop. He said my upper brake light in the back window was out. I replaced the bulb, and the rear light error went away. It is easy to fix the light unit slides off to the left and lifts up. It takes a small capless bulb.
Are you certain that the correct bulb was installed? You need to look the bulb number up on a chart for the vehicle. Your bulb should have 2 nubs on the base if it's a dual function bulb.
And how exactly did you check the wiring? If you did a visual inspection only and not test it with a voltmeter, then have a mechanic have a look at it. That won't cost much at all.
Probably not. Almost all newer cars have to have the battery attached to keep running, once its detached or dies, it will most likely stop running fairly soon, if not right away.
Hi jammer. The active sway bar can be inactive for many reasons. The most common reasons are that the fluid level is low in the reservoir and or the steering angle sensor needs to be initialized. What fault code is shown and which system is it in?
are you sure that you put the right bulb in? Some of these bulbs look very similar, (like a 3057 and 3157 or 3156) but they are different. A customer came in with this problem and the problem was that they put a bulb with a single filament in when it was supposed to have a dual filament. the bulbs looked the same and they just grabbed them off the shelf instead of asking the parts guy what their vehicle called for.
CHECK ALL BULBS IF BULBS OKAY,REASON REVERSE LIGHTS DONT WORK YOU HAVE FAULTY INHIBITOR SWITCH.FOR BRAKE LIGHTS NOT TO WORK,EITHER BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH FAULTY OR TURN SIGNAL BAD,BECAUSE MOST CARS NOW TURN SIGNAL SWITCH AND BRAKE LIGHTS SHARE SAME CIRCUIT.
Older trucks are bad about loosing the ground in the back.. You could try finding the ground or splice in a new one... See if the terminals are "hot" If they are fix the grounds.
Replace both lights at the back of your car. The fact that you have steady non-flashing lights at the front and no lights at the back is a troubleshooting tool to let you know the back lights are bad.
