NO COUNTRY TOLD LHD OR RHD, WE DRIVE ON LEFT SIDE OF CAR HERE LHD. AND HVAC IS NOT THE SAME AT ALL BOTH.
THERE ARE 64 STEPS TO GET IT OUT. ARE YOU READY,
TIMES X2, OUT AND COUNT.
REMOVE
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. 2. Remove the two access covers and two air bag module or horn pad retaining nuts from the air bag module on the back side of the steering wheel, and lift the module away from the steering wheel. 3. Disconnect the air bag wire harness connectors and remove the module from the steering wheel. 4. Disconnect the horn/speed control wire harness connector in the steering wheel. 5. Remove the steering wheel retaining bolt. 6. Use a suitable steering wheel puller and remove the steering wheel. Route the contact assembly wire harnesses through the steering wheel as the steering wheel is lifted off the shaft. NOTE For vehicles with an E40D transmission, a protective cover (such as a rag) must be placed between the gearshift lever and the steering column shroud opening during steering column shroud removal. This will prevent damage to the shrink wrap on the gearshift lever. 7. Remove the steering column lower trim mouldings. 8. On all except Commercial Chassis, grasp the bottom of the instrument panel steering column cover and pull to disengage the bottom from its retained position, then grasp the top of the instrument panel steering column cover and pull to disengage the instrument panel steering column cover from its retained position. 9. On Commercial Chassis, remove the steering column tube lower trim, if so equipped. 10. Remove the steering column release lever by unscrewing it from the steering column. 11. Rotate the ignition switch lock cylinder to the /RUN/// position. Using a 1/8-inch drift, press the retaining pin of the lock cylinder through the access hole in the lower steering column shroud and remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. 12. Remove the clockspring. 13. Remove the four retaining screws from the lower steering column shroud and remove the upper shroud from the column. 14. On all except Commercial Chassis, unsnap the lower instrument panel steering column cover, then remove the six knee brace retaining bolts. 15. Remove the steering column support: 16. On all except Commercial Chassis, remove the two bolts from the instrument panel steering column opening cover reinforcement. 17. On Commercial Chassis, remove the four retaining nuts from the steering column support. 18. Disconnect the PRND21 cable from the steering actuator housing by removing one screw. 19. Disconnect the PRND21 cable loop from the shift tube hook. 20. Remove the two retaining screws and two electrical connectors from the switch. Remove the multi-function switch from the steering column. 21. Remove the pinch bolt from the steering shaft flex coupling. 22. Disconnect the shift cable from the selector lever pivot arm. 23. Remove the shift cable from the steering column lower mounting bracket by pushing the tab on the cable in and sliding the cable off the bracket. 24. Disconnect the ignition switch. 25. Lower the steering column bend bracket and disconnect the plastic snap-on connectors. 26. While supporting the steering column, remove the four retaining nuts. 27. Disconnect the collapsible intermediate shaft from the U-joint at the lower end of the steering column. 28. Remove the steering column from the vehicle. 29. Unfasten the engine cover latches and remove the engine cover. Engine cover removal 30. Remove the four screws from the top of the instrument panel. Location of the screws at the top of the instrument panel 31. Remove the upper center instrument panel access panel. 32. Disconnect the climate control air vacuum connector. 33. Remove the headlamp knob and bezel. 34. Remove the two bolts from the instrument panel finish panel and remove the panel. 35. Remove the instrument cluster as follows: 1. Remove the bolts. 2. Disconnect the electrical connectors. 3. Remove the transmission range indicator. 4. Remove the instrument cluster. 36. Remove the three headlamp switch bolts. 37. Disconnect the headlamp switch electrical connector. 38. Disconnect the radio electrical connectors and the antenna and remove the radio. 39. Pry the center finish panel away from the instrument panel and position it out of the way. 40. Disconnect the cigar lighter electrical connector and power point electrical connector. 41. Remove the center finish panel. 42. Remove the three climate control panel screws. 43. Remove the climate control panel assembly from the center finish panel. 44. Disconnect the climate control wiring harnesses from behind the climate control panel. 45. Remove the driver side upper left access panel to access the instrument panel nut. 46. Remove the instrument panel nut retaining the instrument panel to the main bracket. 47. Remove the passenger side instrument panel finish panel reinforcement. 48. Remove the instrument panel dash brace. 49. From under the hood, remove the two coolant reservoir screws and position the reservoir out of the way. 50. Remove the main wiring assembly/lower bulkhead connector as follows: 1. Remove the bulkhead connector bolt. 2. Disconnect the bulkhead connector clips. 3. Remove the bulkhead connector. 51. Remove the right-hand cowl side trim panel. 52. Disconnect the air bag electronic crash sensor (ECS) module electrical connector. 53. Disconnect the instrument panel cowl side wiring electrical connectors. Instrument panel cowl side electrical connectors 54. Disconnect the passenger side air bag module electrical connector. 55. Remove the two locators on the radio antenna from the wiring shield (passenger side). 56. Remove the six bolts (one on each of the two center brackets and two on each end) retaining the instrument panel to the center dash panel. NOTE Removing the instrument panel from the vehicle requires two technicians. 57. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle through the passenger side door. 58. Lift the instrument panel upward slightly and outward to remove from the dash panel. WARNING THE ENGINE MUST BE OFF, FULLY COOL AND THE COOLING SYSTEM FULLY DEPRESSURIZED BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DISCONNECT ANY HEATER WATER HOSES. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THIS WARNING CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR BURNS FROM HOT LIQUID ESCAPING OUT OF THE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM. 59. Drain the engine cooling system. 60. Disconnect the quick disconnect heater water hose couplings. 61. Plug the heater water hoses with a suitable 5/8-inch or 3/4-inch plug. 62. Remove the heater core cover. 63. Remove and discard the heater core case seal. NOTE Use care not to spill the coolant remaining in the heater core during removal. 64. Remove the heater core
