It mite sound weird but your alternator mite be the prob like the diode on it can be out and it will make your car not start that is why your gauge jump like that so next time your gauge's jump as you try to start it but it just clicks it mite be the alt. hope this will help people out there.

a scanner that gets into the instrument cluster computer can reset the needles. or take the dash apart and manually turn dash cluster upsidedown, then the needles will move so rotate untill the needles are reset.

2005 Chrysler town & country touring won't turn over.

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.

Gauges go nuts when car is started

battery should be checked, low amperage will cause this problem. Replace battery and problem should correct. If any gauge spins around and stays on wrong side of stop, hold trip odometer knob in until diagnostics start. Dash will go thru a series of test and everything will be normal if test pass.
