Have you tried replacing the overflowtank top. This can cause your problem. A lot of people don't realize this. It gets worn and can;t hold the pressure of coolant. Change it out $8 and let us know.

What causes a 1993 toyota vienta to heat up excessively

Coolant level low, thermostat stuck closed, radiator fans failed, head gasket leak to coolant jacket

After checking the coolant level, look at the radiator fans when it is very hot to see if they operate.

If OK, have a mechanic do a simple check for combustion gases in the coolant, and a compression check on all cylinders. This is not expensive.

If OK, change the thermostat and flush the radiator.

Coolant boiling in resevoir.

It can be faulty coolant temperature sensor. Its not sensing exact coolant heat temperature so its overheating then required level.

-----------

Get the coolant pressure tested, its definitely leaking coolant. You will need to get the coolant running line.

Pressure test will help you to know from where exactly coolant/refrigerant is getting leaked.

2002 ford windstar sel overheating

first check coolant level in radiator coolant level sound low.if coolant overflow jug empty.coolant sysyem low, when add coolant to coolant overflow jug coolant level should stay at full cold mark.if coolant level okay, engine overheat while sitting or moving in slow traffic either coolant fan relay or fuse could be bad.or engine coolant temperature sensor could be bad. coolant sensor turn on cooling fan at certain temperature.hot wire check to make sure cooling fan motor not bad or short in wires.if all is good have pcm check it controls fan relay to through the coolant temperature sensor signal when coolant get hot.

Over heating

Check coolant levels. Check for leaks by doing a pressure test on the car. Make sure the thermostat is operating correctly. Inspect radiator and water pump. If you can't see anything wrong and coolant levels are good, try flushing and filling the cooling system to see if that helps. Also is the radiator fan operating correctly. Good Luck.

My temperature gauge is normal when driving, when stopped it moves towards hot. Car takes a while to warm up.

You need to make sure there is engine coolant in your vehicle. Also, make sure your cooling fans are kicking on. If they are and you have enough coolant, you might have a problem with your radiator.

New thermostat good temp at all speeds get to 65 runs hotter 70 hotter 75 even hotter wonder if fan temp switch is going bad fans only come on for 10 or 15 seconds?

high speed overheating are a good indication. something is wrong with radiator. check coolant level, make sure the fans are working, and check radiator for broken fins or dirt and debris in radiator fins. if air is not going through radiator, it will over heat. if all is fine. replace radiator cap to see if this fixes problem. but check radiator fins first for debris.

What can cause water to get very hot and be pushed out into the the coolant reservoir in a 1993 Toyota Camry LE v6?

Several things ... best guess, in order:
1. (very likely) Radiator fan is not blowing (turn on car and a/conditioner. When compressor kicks in, the radiator fan must blow). If it ims not blowing, the radiator fan motor may be burned out ($40).
2. Check / replace "cooling fan" fuse ($1) and / or "cooling fan" relay switch ($7).
3. Could be (not likely) thermostat sticking shut. Replace thermostat ($20)
4. Could be radiator hose collapse (not very likely) ($18)
5. Radiator clog or hose leak (possible)
6. Head gasket broken (not likely unless you don't fix current problem) ($150)

The more detail of the symptoms, the better we can assist you.

Hope this helps!

External radiator resevoir full - radiator not and car is cool

Yes there is supposed to be a suction if the hose is hooked up correctly. When the car cools all the way down it is supposed to pull coolant back in to the radiator from the resevoir. If it is not woring you may not have it sealed right. Make sure the radiator cap is all the way on correctly. You may have to push down and turn it some more. It has to have a seal to create suction.

Oveheating problem on a 2002 dodge inrepid how do yo fix it?

Sir,
Low coolant?
Cooling fan not working?
Radiator plugged or air flow restricted?
Defective thermostat?
System air bound?
Water pump not circulating coolant?
Defective radiator cap?

Occasional overheating, if not related to low fluid or other problems, is usually caused by a sticking thermostat.
