Auto box oil change Renault Scenic, gearbox stuck in park

I changed the oil (Renault scenic 51 plate) in the automatic gearbox and refilled using the plug on the top of the box. This was a plug with a steel rod which fits into a nylon ball. I cannot now select any gear and it remains in park. tighting or loosing the plug makes the selector easier of harder to move.

Can I take a gearbox out of a Renault scenic leaving the engine in

Yes , by attaching an engine stand accross the both fenders allowing to suspend the engine and allowing the gearbox to tilt ,giving you access to opening the mountings and bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.

Would a 51 plate renault megane scenic 1.9dti be able to run on bio diesel?

There would have to be a few changes in order to do so. I believe the injector nozzles would need different tips in order to atomize properly.
