  1. Take your vehicle to an approved repair facility and have the A/C system discharged.
  2. Record your vehicles radio anti-theft code.
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4. Under the hood, open the cable clamp, disconnect the heater valve cable, and turn the heater valve arm to the fully opened position.
  5. Drain the coolant. The engine must be cool.
  6. Remove the mounting nut to the heater.
  7. Push the hose clamps back.
  8. Place a small drip pan under the heater hoses.
  9. Remove the inlet and then the outlet hoses from the heater unit.

Always keep engine coolant away from painted surfaces. If a spill does occur, rinse it off immediately. Never wipe it with a shop rag, this may further smear it into the surface.
  1. Remove the mounting nut from the heater unit.
  2. Remove the dashboard.
  3. Remove the heater duct.
  4. Remove the heater unit.
  5. Remove the screws and then the bracket that holds the heater core in the air box.

To install:
The installation procedure is in reverse order of disassembly making note of the following points.
  1. For the air conditioning system:

Replace any removed A/C O-rings and coat them with a light coating of refrigerant oil before installing them. Make sure any replaced O-rings are compatible with R-134a refrigerant. Once the repair procedure is completed, have a certified repair facility add the proper type and amount of refrigerant oil if necessary, charge the A/C system, and test for normal operation and refrigerant leaks.
  2. For the heater system:

Apply a suitable sealant to the grommets. Make sure the heater inlet and outlet hoses are installed in the correct location. Refill the engine coolant with a 50/50 mixture of approved coolant and water, and bleed as necessary. Once the heater core repair is completed, make sure the heater control valve is properly adjusted by placing the temperature setting to the max cool position. Unclamp the heater valve cable sheathing and move the heater valve arm away from the firewall. The apply a light pull to the cable and cable sheathing to make sure all slack is removed from the cable, and reinstall the cable.

How to install headers on a 2001 chevy 4.3

You are wanting to put headers on a Blazer? Power to ya, dude! I doubt if anyone can tell you how to do it other than unbolt the existing manifolds and bolt the headers in....hope they fit...

Have you thought about what you are going to do with the REST of the exhaust system? Like the O2 sensors, catalytic converter, etc.? Install headers because it sounds cool and all your buddies will be impressed with all the "power" it gives your Blazer...only to totally mess up your fuel control and have it run like ****???

I don't get it.....

Good luck

Ford f-150 that has smoke coming inside the vents when you drive it.what would cause this? 4.5 v-8

You trucks heater core is leaking inside the dash heating vents, the air blower motor blows through the heater core and then you smell the leaking coolant in the form of a sickly sweet vapor. You will need to replace the header core, this is a fairly big job and in most cases best left to a professional.

2001 aurora when fan is on high for a period of time it smells like the header is burning.

Not sure what a burning header smells like, but I would expect two possible smells. First, if the blower motor itself is going, you might smell the windings getting hot - like a transformer burning. If this were the case I would expect that the motor wouldn't spin on the low speeds.
The other smell you sometimes get is when the heater core leaks. Then you will get a coolant smell inside the car and sometimes (usually) a wet carpet as well.

Heater core inlet snapped off in hose

If you are talking about the brass tubes which are soldered into the core headers, they are not supposed to turn or be removed except with soldering heat. (600 to 800 degrees F.)

I am losing water in my 1997 suburban i have no leaks and no water in the oil but i do seem to have alot of moisture coming out of the exhaust?

This looks like you have a blown header gasket. You probably can smell anti-freeze in the exhaust.
You can verify the problem by have a pressure test of the cylinders. At least one will not hold pressure. The cost of the new gaskets is cheap compared to the labor to install them. Every item with a gasket that is removed to get the header off will require a new gasket.
