I have a 1993 Buick Regal Custom with 3.8 V6 engine. My problem is lately[past 4 or 5 months] when I run through standing water the serpentine belt comes off. It appears that all pullys are aligned properly. The belt is not stretched out. It only comes off when running through water. Thanks

The tensioner should adjust and take the correct belt and tension it correctly. The reasons for belts coming off and worn / loose belt, wrong belt, tensioner not working, or incorrect belt alignment.
How's your engine coolant level? If you've got a water pump leaking coolant, your belt will squeak, as the pump will leak the coolant directly onto the belt. You'll see the spray pattern under the hood if it's been going on for a while.
you would need a new a/c pump, however you you didnt want to replace it and could live with out the a/c, a cheaper option is to replace the belt and bypass the a/c. Most auto parts store will sell you a belt of the correct dimensions if you tell them you wish to bypass the a/c. I've done this for many customers. It can be done on just about any motor.

Idle position switch or sensor. I had 93 that would stall when i came to a stop. Cost me $43 but it was worth it. I don't know if this will fix it, but it sounds like it would.
1-Remove serpentine fan belt
2-Remove pulley from front of water pump (10mm socket or wrench)
3-remove 6 bolts from water pump assembly (8mm socket or wrench)
4- replace water pump
5- reverse order to reassemble
it is a simple job but that is what the shops charge you can get a good belt for about 40.00 dollars if you know how to put it on yourself.if not the price is right
