This one does not get better with time.

RECOMENDATION: Sight unseen.

Transmission has run low on oil and burned the synchroniser.

Don't keep driving all the metal particles are floating in the remaining oil and this will destroy the remaining bearings in the transmission.

Get it to the shop sooner than later.

Hope this tip helps.

What could be causing my car to over rev when changing gear at speed. Also loses power, takes a while to pick up speed again.

I assume your car is an automatic. First check that the oil level is correct. If it is low, the transmission will slip in the way you describe. If the oil level is OK, then the transmission is faulty and will need to be overhauled.

Code Po734 means on my BMW 2002 (3 series)?? I

PO734 is Gear 4 Ratio Incorrect, slip detected.

Possible causes:
  • Transmission Oil Level Low
  • Output speed sensor problem
  • Engine speed signal circuit between ECM and TCM: Open/Short circuit.
  • Transmission Mechanical Failure.

Transmission slipping out of gear when turning or cornering at low speed

IF you have a cable clutch (manual) look for a reason the cable is causing the clutch to slip when the motor shifts position. IF auto and cable select check for same problem. Check for bad or loose engine mounts--all mounts.

Pulled this code off my 05 lancer po736 what does it mean

Here is the definition for the code.

P0736 MITSUBISHI Description This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B

A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes
Possible causes - Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

Fourtrax a/t transmission slip with gear noise

Maybe the ****** fluid is LOW. I had a car once and when the ****** fluid got low, every turn i took was like being in neutral. It is just because the fluid goes to the one end of the transmission when turning. Check the fluid level and if low, top 'er up and watch for leaks!

Idle drops way down in drive gear in park it's fine or running the A/C

what car is this, could be normal or not depending, like my 73 nova dogs down when put in gear but its suppose to with a 3 speed turbo. if its a newer car its not. and would sudject checking transmission fluid/filter or even replace both. if your fuild is low or old the transmission wont slip as easy and will make you car work harder to idel while sitting still.

Code p0734 I just replaced eng. and trans. now have this code.

Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Incorrect transmission shifting Possible causes - Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit Tech notes Start by inspecting the transmission fluid level and condition, and change fluid if necessary. When is the code detected? P0734 is detected when A/T cannot be shifted to the 4th gear position even if electrical circuit is good. P0734 NISSAN Description This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B

A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (4th) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

P0732 FORD - Incorrect Second Gear Ratio
Transmission in second gear and the ECM detected an incorrect gear ration. This diagnosis monitors actual gear position by checking the torque converter slip ratio calculated by Transmission Control Module (TCM) as follows:

Torque converter slip ratio = A x C/B

A: Output shaft revolution signal from revolution sensor
B: Engine speed signal from Engine Control Module (ECM)
C: Gear ratio determined as gear position which TCM supposes

If the actual gear position is higher than the position (2nd) supposed by TCM, the slip ratio will be more than normal. In case the ratio exceeds the specified value, TCM judges this diagnosis malfunction.

Symptoms
- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Incorrect transmission shifting

Possible causes
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

Tech notes
Start by inspecting the transmission fluid level and condition, and change fluid if necessary.

My car , E60 2004 530D goes into "transm.failsafe " continuously. Ive reset it and then its fine for a day or 2. Thers oil under the car still ( light brown) when parked. I had the oil topped...

I do think this is a low oil condition and you need to get it addressed now.Low oil will damage the transmission very quickly. The factory trans oil in this car is a light brown and almost the color of motor oil.The oil in an automatic transmission is not just for lubrication, it is also the hydraulic and cooling medium.Low oil means low pressure which means slip which means damage.Have the car towed to a sevice facility. This transmission can cost 4 to 5 thousand to repair.Good luck!
