2003 525I BMW and my battery went dead so I jumped it now my heater fan wont turn off even with my engine off and keys out

OR THE CARS BATTERY IS DEAD.
BATTERY LUGS CLEAN AND TIGHT ,NO RUST.?
WHAT IS WRONG IS NOT TELLING ALL THAT WORKS AND DOES NOT IN BRIEF.

1. Y/N ENGINE RUNS. AND DRIVES.
2. HEAD LAMPS WORK KEY ON OR OFF?
3. RADIO WORKS
4. ALL EXTERNAL LAMPS WORK F/R
5. DASH HEATER BLOWER WORKS ON HIGH?
6. IP CLUSTER LAMPS ALL SEEM TO WORK NORMAL KEY ON.?
7. BRAKE LAMPS WORK AND PARK LAMPS AND TURNS, ?

ELECTRICS ON CARS ARE COMPLEX.
WHAT FAILS AND DOES NOT FAIL IS A HUGE HUGE CLUE TO DISCOVERY
AS IS CHECKING ALL FUSES FIRST.
BATTERY RESTED VOLTAGE IS 12.6VDC IF LOWER IS DISCHARGED.
IF IS LOW, JUMP CABLE JUMP START THE CAR.

Check the security (anti theft system). If the coding does not match the key the car wont start. This assumes that the engine can turn over with the starter.

AFTER JUMP WORKS AND DRIVING, AND STOP AND KEY OFF
IT WILL NOT CRANK.

that means ,
check all fuses first. even the alt fuse (large)
1-battery bad? #1 top failure all cars.
2-Charge system bad. (is the charge/ batt warn lamp glowing when running car, bingo.????

3-or phantom drains. (if no crank just after stall then it not this) if drains while sleeping yes.

the tests are easy, a dirt cheap voltmeter
13.3v to 15v running is good charge system.
if 12v and falling not.

if the battery is bad, the charge system can shut down, so, the best practice is to try a know
good battery out of 2nd car, do you have battery to barrow, this is TOP CHOICE< not thinner wallet.

if the good battery fails then the charge system is failing (note I said system and not a part)
or the belt missing or slipping to the alternator.

btw the 4.3L PCM runs the alternator
PCM is engine brain.
btww, same true 2.2l engine.
the regulator is in the PCM.

so is the charge/bat lamp in cluster
on key on, lamp test
the jump start it , it runs
does the charge./batt.lamp go out.
id be all over that lamp, costs nothing to look.

check the alternator and check for a short or ground a wire may be touching the frame you may want to check the engine computer module

If you can jump start it and it runs, the alternator is probably fine, sounds like you need a new battery.

hi, you need to get a good battery if yours is to flat then even using jump leads then this wont put enough power into your battery to allow it to start, what you need to do is take your battery off the car but dont close the boot with the battery off as you wont open it again if the car is locked its best you leave the car unlocked and then give your battery a full charge over night.

Or replace the battery with a new one you should find that your car will start with no problems after doing this

You'll likely need a new ignition switch. (The electrical side) You can confirm this by pulling the lower steering cover when issue is occurring, and using a test light on the black and yellow wire when turning key to "Start" position. If test light doesn't illuminate, replace switch. (Easy)

If you have a multimeter, connect it to your battery, and select an appropriate DC voltage range. On my multimeter, I use the 20volt setting.

If your battery shows 12-13.8 volts, then it is not the issue. If your battery voltage is low, then you will probably need a new battery. A flat battery can also indicate that the alternator is not recharging your battery properly, but it could also just mean that your battery is old and needs replacing.

If your engine wont turn over, and if your battery is good, it could be a faulty starter motor.

Those jump start packs need to be charged often, or the battery inside them can stop working. It is possible that your jump starter pack is also broken.

Try jump starting the car from another vehicle, with jumper leads. If you know your battery is dead, you could also just replace it with another one.

I had a similar problem.  It was driving me crazy.  If car sat for more that 3-4 hours I would have a dead battery.  It turns out that this apparently is a relatively common problem with BMWs.  What was occurring is that the blower fan for the ac/heater was randomly turning on and off while the car sat.  If the car sat for more than a couple of hours, the fan was draining the battery.  It was about a $250 fix at the shop.

Yesyerday i was driving my BMW with out the heater on. While i was driving my fan came on with out me turning it on. Today i went to start my car and the batery is completrly dead. My fan must have drained my battery, that's no problem I could get that fixed, But, my question is what is wrong with, my fan? Why did it turn on with out me turning it on? I am thinking that maybe wires are crossed or something.
