2005 Dodge Grand Caravan; the fob does not work for open/close, unlock/lock; inside buttons will not lock/unlock; HOWEVER, inside backseat buttons will open/close doors. The problem here is the wiring harness where it travels from the door into the door frame. Constant opening and closing of the driver's door bends the wires back and forth until they work harden and snap. This issue ONLY happens on the driver door.

Once you get inside there, you can check with a multimeter and replace that wire.

The first thing a dealer would do... attempt to
PROGRAM (reacquaint you RKE fob with your Caravan).

Perhaps you overlooked to PROGRAMMING
of the unit... (FOB).

It must be coded into your VEHICLE memory...

Check your fuses. Because the locks are powered they have a fuse. Most likely the fuse box is located on the driver side under the steering wheel/ dash.

Look for the child safety lock on the door's ,they have been turned on .

Here's how our problems played out: First we had a remote that wouldn't lock doors, then doors that wouldn't slide shut and finally locks that wouldn't lock at all. The problem is with the computers BCM. It took two failed trips to the dealer where they tried to replace fuses and misdiagnosed the problem. could be a partially broken wire in the wiring harness that runs in the door track. the wires are inside what looks like a plastic chain that allows it to move with the door and have seen them partially break not allowing power to flow the whole time
