I have a 2008 ford focus sedan, manual transmission. Car ran fine on Saturday, sat until today. Car was totally dead. Tried to jump the battery, when car tried to turn over, there was a horrible noice in the engine. No smoke out of the exhaust, just would not start.

The starter is not getting enough amps, and the starter is groaning and clicking ,and so,on,if you replace the battery,be sure to plug a 12 volt power source into the cig, lighter,to keep the memory to the computer. But have the battery checked,it is most likely the problem, and the terminals to the battery need to be cleaned ,real good, shiny.

I have had battery and alternator checked, both are good. Battery was dead, jumped car, started and ran fine. Drove 30 minutes, shut off and sat for 2 hours. Started fine again, just went to gas station...

Most likely you have a bad battery. The second option is that you have a faulty wiring and there is a constant load that takes a lot of power, but it does not make a short circuit. Check the electrical relays, maybe it's in them.

Where's starter located on 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4x4 it started fine ran to store wouldn't crank it clicked but even with jump it wouldn't start

I would start with the battery first. If your battery lost 1 or 2 cells in it, jumping doesn't help. It's like try to jump a totally dead battery, you have to let it charge up some before it will crank over. Except with a dead cell, it never charges up.

Daughter hit a curb with a ford focus 2005 now the battery wont stay charged. Replaced battery all was fine started the next day. After driving the car died nothing worked got a jump and car ran like no...

1. Check all the cable connections on the battery and on the alternator.

2. If they are all fine then have the alternator checked because from what you have described it is not charging. The usual problem is worn brushes in the alternator.

2000 ford focus sedan 2.0 dohc ztec engine rear

check all battery leads and earth straps
"" car body and engen bay straps""
also check battery terminals are tight check its full of battery water too if its been low for a time bump it!
and have a ""drop meeter test"" done on the battery if its a bad battery it should show that up first time it could have cracked plates inside the battery its self, test by turning on head lights then hit starter, if every thing go's dead!!!! put ""good jump start"" battery on to car and try it again,,, all should work just fine then,,,,it could just be a flat battery?????

Clicking starter=car not starting

the battery is located under the rear seat, check battery connections. if connections are tight replace starter.

'05 Focus not starting

do the headlights come on? maybe the battery ran dead for some reason while you were working on the car.

Get a jump start & see if it starts then. Call AAA or the Ford assistance number in your owner manual if you don't have jumper cables. It should be free.
