You need to have three sensors checked on the transmission, output sensor, input sensor, and speed sensor,
one is not telling the computer your speed,so the computer keeps you in limp mode
I went through the "LIMP MODE" just a few weeks ago, check the following and pass this information on to others that may encounter the same problem.
1. Check and verify codes - If your code is defined as TCM or Transmission Control Module Failure proceed to the next couple of steps
2. Inspect and Verify all wiring for broken or frayed wires
3. Verify all Negative / Ground connections for shorts or non contact
4. Inspect and verify battery input and output
5. Disconnect and isolate the Negative terminal from the firewall
6. Remove the TCM and inspect plug - "MAKE SURE THAT THE NEG> TERMINAL HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED before removal
7. Inspect TCM plug - clean with electrical contact cleaner if needed
8. Either purchase a "NEW" TCM which runs between $200 - $400 plus an additional $100 - $300 to program TCM to your vehicle - OR - search your local junkyard for the TCM that was removed or salvaged from the same model and make of your vehicle for $20 - $100.
Note: The product / model number may be different but the used / salvaged TCM should be a plug / play without reprogramming.
NOTE: The above mentioned worked for me successfully, as stated I have not experienced any problems thus far.
The information provided was not from a dealer nor professional mechanic.
Please let me know if this resolves your problem
