If this is sparking out of what appears to be unexposed (covered) portions of the spark plug wire replace the wires. It might also be a good time to change the ignition cap and rotor as well. It may be "sparking" out of more places than you know. To test this start the car and watch the under hood in the dark or very low light.

My daughters camry quit running, we put a brand new distributor in it and a new fuel pump, still wont run, checked the rotor to make sure its turning while cranking and it is, anyone have any ideas

I would like to know what year the Camry is? You should pull a spark plug wire then put another spark plug in it and ground the spark plug. Next, you need to have someone crank the engine while you are looking for spark. Once you determine there is spark then check to make sure you have fuel coming to the injectors.

I crossed spark plug wires 1994 toyota camry .Can u help me fix? 4 cylinder 2.2engine

Hi Juan !
the spark plugs wires are 4 (four) the engine works in sequence of 1342 on the distributor cap mostly writes 1 ( one ) this means the first piston-the first spark -lead. if it is there then go clockwise and put the rest following the firing order I wrote above.

I have a 1990 4 cylinder Camry. The head is from a 1995 Camry. Do I use spark plugs for a 1990 or for a 1995 on this vehicle?

I'll be interested to see what the other Toyota mavens here think. I'd say the 1990 plug, I'd try a set of NGK BKR5ES-11. They are the cheaper type, not platinum.

I have a 1995 Toyota Camry 2.2 4 cyl with 5 speed manual that has been running rich, and has lost most of its power when I try to take off it feels as though its trying to do a 3rd gear take off. I have...

Firstly I have to mention, is the check engine light lit on the instrument panel? This means a trouble code is stored in the main computer, which will tell you the location of the fault.
There is a host of possible reasons
- ignition timing incorrect- distributor fault, oil in there, cracked cap- fuel injection fault- fuel pressure high or low, relief valve failed- brakes binding- emissions system fault, vacuum leaks, blocked valve

Timing belt

Firstly the engine should be at top dead centre on the compression stroke. If unsure which one it is, remove all the spark plugs stick your finger in the no 1 spark plug hole to feel for compression as the engine is turned clockwise. Then see here for details, p 29 and 36

If you want to check the distributor spark timing, see here p 19

What should be the coils reading for 95 toyota camry v6 on the ohms meter

I assume you have an engine with no distributor and coils on each spark plug. That reading is 0.5 to 0.85 ohms. You will need a sensitive ohm meter.

Other engines with distributor are different.

Would not start, replaced dist.cap, rotor button. it started and went about a block, quit and will not restart

The camry came with all the ignition module and pick up coil inside the distributor, check for spark at the spark plugs, if no spark replace the distributor, if you have spark then check fuel pressure. 38-44 PSI anything less than 38 will cause it to not run

How to fix a front leaky oil seal in a 1995 Toyota Camry LE

Three seals to check. easiest is the valve cover seal. Number and remove the 4 wires going into your spark plugs. remove 4 nuts holding the cover and replace seal.
Next easiest is the distributor O-ring. Remove air filter assembly remove the distributor cap, then the distributor. With the valve cover still off, loosen the 2 bolts that clamp the distributor down. Remove the 2 terminal leads going into the distributor (4 wire terminal/2 wire terminal) Mark the case of the distributor and the case of the head with one line so you can line it back up on reinstallation. remove the 3 bolts holding the distributor down. Replace O-ring. replace distributor, align, tighten the 2 bolts, then tighten the 3 bolts. replace terminal wiring and cap. replace air filter assembly. Replace valve cover with new gasket. Place spark plug wires back into their proper places. The last one is the oil pan gasket. Drain all oil and remove all blots holding the pan. drop the pan and replace the gasket. Put it all back into place. Do not over tighten the pan bolts as this will cause the gasket to deform, making it leak again.

I need a spark plug wiring diagram for a 1992 Toyota Camry, 4 cylinder, 2200 motor.

I believe your firing order is 1-3-4-2. You may see a number 1 on the distributor cap on this vehicle. That is the #1 plug wire. The wire hole next to that would go to spark plug 3 etc. Easiest way is to change wires one at a time. Hope this helped.
