How do i change the fuel filter when it is

Inside of the tank. In their infinite wisdom, Chrysler placed all components that they could inside of the tank in one over priced unit. The filter, pressure regulator, pump, and level sending unit are all together.

Inside of the fuel tank. Everything is together as a unit...your fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, and fuel filter.

Mike the only way to change the fuel filter on a 96 Sebring is to drop the gas tank and change the fuel pump. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Mike.

i beleive the fuel filter is above the fuel tank and the tank will have to be lowered to gain enough access to replace it.

The fuel filter is external, will be an in-line fuel filter meaning it's screw into the fuel line, more then likely will be under the hood over by the fire wall.

Some of the Sebrings have two filters(one is called a sock).The sock(which all sebrings have) is located in the fuel tank itself on the pump module.If this model is the JXI then the external filter is located on the belly of the car between the tank and drivers rear seat. I hope I could help!!!

sounds like float is stuck in tank,either remove pump again or try filling tank and drive your car swerving it to unstick float assembly

The fuel filter on the Sebring is tucked up next to the tank towards the passenger side rear wheel. under the vehicle, in fuel line above rear end of gas tank. Relieve pressure before changing, wear goggles and gloves, to protect yourself ( i relieved the pressure, but when pulling filter off, it came loose all of a sudden, sprayed gas in my eyes, trip to e-room-scary.)

fuel filters are usually located under the driver side of the car. it will be a metal cylinder with 2 lines on it. one going to the engine and one coming from the gas tank.
