Dealer says problem with backup camera not working is because the radio needs to be replaced because their wiring is the same and together?

Hi,

it would make sense because in a lot of cars, the screen for the backup camera is integrated into the infotainment system (which includes the radio).

I'm surprised the dealer didn't' just recommend an infotainment system to replace your radio with. You might call another Hyundai dealer and ask them to recommend an infotainment system which includes a backup camera integration. They should be able to handle the full installation.

Thank you.

How much should it cost to replace rear brake pads on a 2007 Saab 93?

I had just 35000 KM's on my 2007 9-3 Aero when the brake pads were gone - dealer wanted... wait for it.... $900 to replace just the rear pads and rotors. Dealer also said that Rotors MUST be changed every time the pads are on this car. Purchased new OEM pads and rotors from autopartsway.ca and did the install myself. Took just over an hour, and I am not that mechanically inclined. Dealer will tell you that you need a special compression tool to push the pistons in... I used a C-Clamp and a pair of vice grips (tighten the C-clamp a bit, and rotate the piston with the vice grips... takes quite a while, but is cheap and effective).

I don't think my 2007 mark lt has a dvd player. Can I add that to the factory Navigation System?

it can be but for better clarification...go vissit your local dealer/parts deptment and tell them what you want and they can tell you for sure. Aftermarket DVD shops will say nop and try to sell u an aftermarket unit to replace your factory one.

I need to change factory radio to aftermarket one

this is pretty vague. There are a lot of options out there. A few of the top hits in your search for car audio retailers on your favorite www search engine will set you up with an installation kit and harness so you don't have to cut the factory harness. My favorite starts with the letter C. Their tech department is strong and will support you in your purchase free of charge, Like a CRUTCH.

Navigation upgrade for 2007 9-3 Aero

You will have to have it programmed at a Saab dealer. It wouldn't hurt to remove the old EHU (radio) and see if you have different connectors. Remove the screw covers (4) carefully and remove the screws. Then it will come right out. I think there are different connectors which would mean you are screwed but I am not sure. Make sure you have the Nav. DVD.
