The lug nuts are press fitted in the rotor. You should be able to hit the bolt with a hammer(or hammer and punch if the bolt is sheered flush with the rotor) and it should come out.

Generally lug bolts have small serated splines and are hammered or pressed in from behind. You did not say if it was drum or disc, front or back, lug nut or lug bolt style, etc. All this is essential to know before giving exact answer. But general advice is that if it was a bolt that broke that had been pressed in, you can usually knock it out with a hammer and drift. Then hammer the new one in, put it on a press, or use a ball joint C-clamp press. Don't try to draw it in with a lug nut, because the nuts are too soft for that kind of pressure. But you can drive it without one lug as long as you don't go off road.

Lug Nuts keep falling off?

This is a somewhat common problem, believe it or not. Due to lack of preventive maintenance, the wheels will sometimes work themselves loose. If caught early, the loose nuts may merely need tightening to proper torque specs to solve the problem. After a certain point, damage is done to the wheels and lugs and nuts, due to the "flapping" of the loose wheel. Past this point, parts must be checked and replaced.

Whatever you do, have the wheels and lugs checked by a competent mechanic ASAP! This is a serious safety hazard that could turn deadly on the road. Is a new wheel worth more than your life? No it isn't, you can afford it!

If a spare tire was put on in the right rearside wasnt able to torqe lugs down only hand tightend will that cause my brakes to pulsate

If the wheel nuts cannot be tightened properly, then yes, this could result in pulsating at the rear end. Tighten lug nuts and recheck.
Also this may be caused by an abnormal spare tyre. Many spare tyres are not put into use and can become distorted or hardened over time. There is a date on the sidewall of all tyres, and no tyres are recommended for use by vehicle manufacturers over six years.

How do i change the back tire

Find the jack and jack up the rear just in front of the rear tire you are changing. (don't lift off ground completely yet). Using the lug wrench (also called a tire iron) break loose each lug nut.

Finish raising the vehicle just high enough that the tire isn't touching the ground. Finish removing the lug nuts, then pull tire off. Put new (different/spare) tire on, and put the lug nuts back on, and tighten by hand until tire is snug. With the car still raised, lightly tighten the lug nuts, until snug again (by use of lug wrench).

Lower car completely and tighten the lug nuts again (do not over tighten). At all points of tightening lug nuts, do so in a criss cross pattern. Start with one, then move to the one directly across from that, and so on (not all will be "directly" across at all times, so just make sure you alternate and don't go in any consecutive (clockwise/counter clockwise) order.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

I am trying to describe how to change a flat on our 2004 savana to my son

Blocking and properly supporting a Vehicle is not for the faint of heart & too many accidents have occurred by not following some basic safety practices . That being said I'd look through the owners manual to find the jack and tools to remove the spare & the flat. next would be setting the parking brake , loosen the lug nuts of the offending wheel , raise vehicle , remove lug nuts , replace wheel , Hand tighten lug nuts if possible or lightly snug them with the supplied wrench . Lower the vehicle and re-Tighten the lug nuts to prevent the tire from falling off. Also tightening them in this way will insure it doesn't fall off the jack and cause any other injuries or issues .

How to change the front tire of a Neon 2000?

Loosen the lug nuts. Jack the car up to where the tire is off the ground only slightly. Remove the lug nuts. Pull the old tire off. Put the spare tire on. While holding the spare on, put the lugs back on. Hand tighten them. Drop the car from the jack. Then tighten up the lugs again.

Sheared front lug

First remove wheel from car. Next take large hammer and drive whats left of lug out, you may need to use a punch if sheared off below hub hight. Now insert new lug stud in from back side of hub and use a open style lug nut (like those you see on old cars without nice wheels) and put on upside down, flat side towards hub. tighten up by hand then use socket to tighten down untill stud is pulled in all the way. In some cases you may need to use a few washes under nut to give enough room for shank on stud.
