Sounds like you have a bad bcm as far as the lights ! The running rough and the cel flashing indicates a misfire condition ! Check your plug wires and see if a critter hasnt chewed a wire !

Runs rough when idling, even worse in drive, and nearly cuts off in reverse. Loses power climbing a hill.Is not running hot. Oil and trans fluid look good. Sometimes "service engine light is on". Changed...

I would perform a compression test on all cylinders if you've already changed your plugs and wires. This willtell u if u have ay mechanical problems with the engine. Also even tho you've changed your spark plugs and wires did you check your injectors or coil packs to ensure they're good. A problem with either will also cause misfires.

Check engine light and knocked off rockers

Running rough and misfiring is usually a one or more bad spark plug wires. Don't go back to that dealer. Replace the wires or have your mechanic do it for you. If you replace them, take one off at a time and install the new one. If you put the wires back on in the wrong order, it will misfire.

Misfire in cylinder 1 2001 mercury sable

Next change swap the injector with another and see of the problem moves.  If it does it's a bad injector.

Engine light on shows a misfire in cylinder #1

Have the injecter checked, could be faulty, also check and see if you have spark at that plug wire.

Rough running after rain

It sounds as thou you have moisture in your distributor.Pull the distributor cap off and let the car sit and dry out for a couple of days and see if that fixes the problem.
