How do you fix a stuck seatbelt in front seat passenger side? The seatbelt has retracted but will not release outwards to enable its use. We have pulled off interior cover of the seatbelt to get access to belt but cannot find or see what to do to release the belt.

The likely cause is a broken spring/mechanism in the belt coil. I'm sure you can get a replacement for this belt.

You can't it is not designed that way. The seatbelt mechanism is damaged and needs to be replaced.

The re-tractor is called an Inertia Reel. There on the side, remove the cover and there is a trigger release on most. If the spring is broken, you will need to replace the reel. Check at a local junk yard for the best price.

If both passengers and drivers side retractable belts have stopped moving, then it's likely the controller that's located under the passengers seat has gone bad. If only one side has stopped retracting and moving then that side motor has probably gone bad.

if you can pull the belt out, it should go back on its own, otherwise its a new belt,its a "no fix" item.

move the seat back to release tension on the belt buckle and then undo it.

I have a seat belt stuck on the front passenger side of a mercedes benz e 230 1996 model what do i do to release it

make sure it isnt twisted untwist as neccessary, pull it out and try and let it retract, if this works and it unjams try washing the seat belt with a mild soap and water solution. if this doesnt help and it remains stuck seatbelt may have to be replaced.

you need to pull the belt out all the way to release it ,they have a locking mechanism for baby seats that stops them retracting,you pull them all the way out and they are reset and retract,common in modern cars,rare to give trouble

This is a simple repair many dont know. remove or pull off plastic pillar post cover, seatbelt probably twisted inside. twist it back around so it runs flat and lube slightly with a light lube spray on metal gearing. i had the same problem w mine pk

Seat belts are not servicable by US DOT law. It will need to be replaced
