Removal & Installation (Avalon, Camry & Sienna)
1. Remove passenger's side inner fender apron for access to crankshaft pulley. Crankshaft position sensor is located near crankshaft pulley.

See Fig. 22 -24 (in Link). Remove bolt and crankshaft position sensor. Disconnect electrical connector at crankshaft position sensor.

2. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolt to specification (71 inlb).

V6 's is by the frot crank shaft area & 4 cyl engines are on the blocks mid way lower area near the oil pan

This engine has two sensors, they are located in the side of the block and pick up the crank position from the crank throws. Below is a diagram. Make sure you check the connectors to the sensors for corrosion or fluid infiltration.

is it a no crank or crank no start?
Possible causes for code P0335
- Faulty crankshaft position sensor
- Crankshaft position sensor harness is open or shorted
- Crankshaft position sensor circuit poor electrical connection

The crank sensor is always located next to the crankshaft pulley. it will be inserted into the block with the top part of the housing half way out. you cant miss the wires leading into the tip of the housing next to the crank shaft pulley.
