Unlock boot without key

I have a 1998 Mercedes C180 1799 cc. The boot is locked and barrel seems to be seized. It will not open using electronics on key, lever inside or silver key or spare key. Cannot access boot from behind rear seat. Mechanic has tried fuses, checking circuits using various techniques. He feels it is a problem with a solenoid. Seems the only way is manually. Does the main dealers have a universal key for this purpose? The main dealers mentioned completing circuit to open it using their implements of some kind but my mechanic has done this already.Kgnmce.

No such thing as a universal key. I would remove the rear seat and crawl through to release the trunk latch.

Mercedes c250 boot

you should be able to use the mechanical key that is located on the side of your remote key fob. It slide out.
Then insert it into the lock under the rear lip of the truck near the release handle.
Hope this helps

I have a 1981 280se w126 Mercedes and don't have lost the keyset. I went to a Merc dealer and they couldn't cut me a key based on the vin they said I have to get one sent from Germany. Is there any quick...

Mercedes are very secure cars and the downside is that you really need the keys. Very awkward that the loss has happened so close to Christmas but if you can be patient it will be best to wait until you receive the keys from Germany.

My trunk will not open on my wife's 2001 slk Mercedes. It's not locked. I think something is stuck in the lock. Can you help me?

your can check is it something stuck in the lock, first operate your roof either way, if you are going to open the roof as a first action boot lid will open to backward, let boot lid fully open and stop operating the roof, ignition off and have a look if something stuck you can see, if you are going to close the roof let close the roof and before close the boot lid stop operating roof switch, otherwise faulty boot lid lock, if faulty lock but you can try by mettle key blade which is in your electronic key, first take out mettle key from electronic key then insert mettle key in to the key hole in boot lid turn fully left and open boot if not work turn fully left and push it in, is this information helped you?

My c220 2002 model boot only opens with a key what could the problem be

Hi spray the lock and the mechanism with WD40 dont be shy with it, ensure you spray the underside of the boot lid where it meets the lock, the electric motor may be struggling to open without the key, spray everything and repeatedly lock and unlock with both the key and the remote after a while it should free off, if the lock is stiff then the motor will not be able to force the latch over and open the boot.

It is very common on mercs, like I say dont be shy with the wd40 it normally fix's this fault.

Mercedes-Benz 230clk coupe 1998 with dead battery

I had same problem with my 2002 CLK430. Dead battery with car locked. You can't open doors with the mechanical key (inside remote key), as windows need power to slide down slightly to allow clearance, so you can't access the hood release. The answer is to insert the mechanical key in the key hole for the trunk (boot). It will only go in one way, with the slightly larger grip part down. I found it easiest to turn with a pair of flat nosed pliers. Turn counterclockwise to the left to to the 11 o'clock position. Then push the release in and the trunk will open. Battery is located in the right rear quarter under the flooring panel that also covers spare tire. Hook up charger or jumper cables and power will come back on, as will alarm. To disable, just push the unlock button on the remote key. You should be good to go from here!
