Whats LAMO is thicking that the ecm needs to be reset with battery replacement the power module needs to have new battery registered so it knows and resets battery state of charge values if the trans is acting up thats another module altogether its called the egs module but in all honesty your problem might not be related to the battery replacement

2005 BMW 545i engine Code P0962 "Pressure Control Solenoid "A" Control Circuit Low"

The common joke acronym for "BMW" is Break My Wallet. BMWs are very nice cars but they are somewhat complex and quite expensive to maintain.

Take the car to an auto parts store such as Autozone. They have an OBDII code reader that can reset (clear) the error code. If the code does not come back on, then you're good to go, However, if it does come back on then the fix is have it serviced.

I would take it in to the dealer and ask them for an estimate of costs and if you think it's too much then perhaps find an independent shop to do the work (rather than the dealership).

Good luck!!

How do you reset the active steering warning light when the battery has been replaced in a 2004 BMW 545i ? Adrian

you need to have it reset by dealer, shop or parts store that has OBII scanner. Good parts stores will do it for FREE

My 545i service warning light is on. It says...

if you tell a BMW garage you only want an age/mileage service, thats what you get BUT they will give you a list(on paper)of things that you may want to consider doing,BMW dealers have strict instructions from the factory and if they dont follow these they loose the franchise...THEY DONT PLAY GAMES like some domestic makes.....(dealers)

I cannot start BMW 545i normally.

Your car battery is dead. Or the cable from the battery to the 12V terminal has a bad connection.

2004 BMW 545 active steering fault

after replacing the battery, battery replacement has to be registered in the power module.Newer bmw's can experience battery draw issues. usually after battery replacment the active steering has to be re-aligned. you can try turning the steering wheel lock to lock to see if that solves your problem (usually only works on older cars) if you can find a shop that has a GT1 (bmw's older diagnostic equipment) they should be able to reset the light. At the same time if the vehicle has a battery draw and the power module is disconnecting the battery when the charge level gets low, that is your root problem and you will end up with an active steering fault over and over
