The brake assist is bad. Its located on the firewall. The brake master cylinder bolts to it. The rod comes from it to the brake pedal

Under the hood on driver side, the big black round brake booster which is attached to the firewall, has a vacuum hose going to it, which is connected to a one check valve that just pushes into a rubber grommet on the booster. Have someone step on the brake while listening for air exscaping around it.
Most likely the diaphram inside the booster is leaking, and the only fix for that, is to replace it.

Yes sounds like a vacuum leak, it could be a cracked pipe that goes from you air intake to the brake booster which is located under the brake oil reservoir.

Brake pedal goes to floor on first depression; then pumps up fine

Try this, apply the emergency before stepping on the brake.
If this helps the pedal, the rear brakes are out of adjustment.

Brake lights will not go off in dodge intrepid

It seems like you may have a bad Brake Light Switch, which is located on your Brake Pedal. The switch is activated when you step on the brakes it sends a signal to the Brake Lights to turn the lights on when the pedal is depressed, if it is defective it may be keeping the Brake Lights on. You can purchase on and replace it yourself, it is not very difficult.

1993 Ford AWD Aerostar Van. When the engine is

Sounds like the front calipers are not fully retracting properly. Check the front caliper operation while a friend pumps the brake pedal, the rubber lines could also be cracked and allowing air into the lines. Check brake fluid level.

Brake problems

The brakes don't create air, so it may be your bleeding procedure.

Always start at the right rear wheel, then left rear, then right front, then left front. Pump the pedal 3, maybe 4 times before you check the reservoir. If it ever goes dry, you MUST start over.

If you still get dirty fluid from the lines, then you have not purged all the air from the system. The clean fluid chases the dirty fluid, with a bubble of air in between.

You must also be sure to close the wheel cylinder port while the pedal is depressed, open when the pedal is being depressed. If the port is open when the pedal is released, air will be sucked back into the line.
