This is tranny fluid. ive had the problem myself. its most likely a hose that goes from the tranny to the tranny cooler that is located at the front of the car and is sometimes part of your radiator. get this fixed ASAP

HAve you checked the power steering fluid too see if its low?
Sounds like a power steering pump or hose, which would cause a hesitation.

Is the car hard to steer?Any noise when going left and right.

good luck. check out the power steering fluid level before a transmission rebuild.

2004 chevy express leaking fluid front driver side

The question is what color is the fluid. If it is yellowish and oily its going to be power steering fluid. If its red or or green and watery its coolant the only other thing would be gas or windsheild washer fluid. Check front driverside brakeline as well just to be safe

I just bought 97 dodge carvan and drove it about 50 miles ,pulled into drive and it was leaking something red on the front left side, any ideas what it could be?

Hi If your coolant is red it could be a coolant leak. But if its oily red then its either power steering fluid or auto transmission fluid.
If you check these levels i`m sure you will see which one it is.
Hope this helps you and it turns out to be not to big a problem

Leak under car on driver side maybe waterpump

If the fluid is a bright green or yellow colour, it is coolant fluid. Check the water pump, there should be a seal leak drain hole under it, look for signs of a leak. If there is a green/yellow track leading from below the water pump. you need to have the water pump replaced. A leak from the engine would be dark brown to black an a transmission leak would be red tp very dark red. Coolant would tend to dry up while oils spills do not. The water pump is located on the side of the engine where the belts are. I do not know if your car is left or right hand drive.

My 2001 ford taurus will not move at all with car on. Can place in all gear & still will not move a inch. What has happen

with the engine running,in park, open the hood. pull the transmission dipstick, located on passengers side, just below the windsheild.the handle may be red,or yellow.pull the dipstick out and read it.the fluid level should always be in the crosshairs or XXXXXX's it has a full reading, at the top of theXXXXX's but only while the engines running and motors warm. it [the dipstick has a cold reading, but more acurate when read warm, and in PARK. always use FOMOCO transmission fluid when adding transmission fluid to your car. that means ford motor company fluid only.[fomoco] is it leaking fluid at all? do you see red fluid anywhere that you park the car? if so,then you have either a bad front or rear transmission seal. either ones a better thing than a bad transmission ,sounds like you're just low on fluid, but i got to ask where the fluid leaked or where it went? suggest that you check for leaks. you may add fluid to your transmission and it moves, but be alert, look for a leak somewhere.thank you for choosing

My 04 Cadillac Deville is leaking tranny fluid on the driver side near the wheel. It seems to only do it when i carnk up and pull off in reverse or brake to turn into my driveway.i have multiple dotted...

Hello: First check the red cap on top of the transmission (driver side under the hood) You may have to remove part of the air cleaner assembly to access it. Make sure it has a "O" ring seal on it. You have to push it down then turn it to lock it. If the cap is on correctly and it leaks then the left axle seal may be bad or the gasket on the side cover or at worst the side cover could be broken. All the above needs to be checked. Happy New Year.

Where do I put the transmission fluid? The car does not accelerate at all when pressing on the gas pedal. Help, please!

Hello: If this is a rear wheel drive, you will find a dip stick under the hood towards the passenger side rear of the engine compartment remove the dip stick (should have a red handle) with a proper size funnel add transmission fluid through the tube for the dipstick. If it is a front wheel drive the procedure is the same except on the front wheel drive the dipstick is on the driver side toward the rear of the engine compartment. Check the fluid with the engine running. Do not overfill. Does the engine speed up when you press the accelerator? If so if the car moves after you put fluid in the transmission the you need to find out where the leak is and repair it. Use dextron3 transmission fluid
