Peugeot Partner electrical problem

I have a problem with the battery light coming on when engine has started on my 2005 2L Peugeot Partner. There no charging of the battery but when I removed fan belt the battery light went out, which should stay on.
Can anyone help please!!

Pete

Take a voltmeter.
remove the connection pin of alternator and check the voltage while engine runs. If in idle running its below 12 volts then there is a short circuit within alternator coil. Replace your alternator.
May be my suggestion can help you.

Peugeot Partner van 1.4 petrol. Crank won't start, strong smell of petrol?

Engines only need three things to start.

  1. Fuel (we know you have that)
  2. Compression (we assume nothing happened since the last time it ran)
  3. A spark at the right time (this is the likely culprit)

I have a peugeot partner van 1997, and I want to bye pass the immobiliser, as the van will not start. The red and green light are staying on. do you have any suggestions please? It is with a mecahnical...

Leave it for half an hour with the ignition on and door closed, it should re set (this happens when the wrong code is used for more than 3 times) check for a sticking button, sometimes they go sticky with a lot of use, if you do get the green light just umplug the keyboard when running and it disables the system. If you cannot get the green light try leaving the battery off overnight with the lights switched on then connect the battery, if still no with the ignition on and someone in the car spark the earth lead to the battery untill the green light comes on.

Peugeot partner wopnt start replaced glow plug

what voltage u getting ?. did it just stop and then not restart. if its getting fuel and glow plugs are working the next two items id look at is the cam shaft and crank shaft position sencors. also make sure ur battery is in good condition, so starter motor is turning fast enough to build up the correct pressure on the rail.

Peugeot Partner 2005 - Check Engine Light ON

Try depressing the trip reset with the ignition switch in the off position then turn the ignition on with the reset still pressed, wait 20 secs or so and it should reset, if not then you need a code reader.
