How hard is it to replace the starter on a 1993

i think you need a new starter. my suburban cranked really slowly as well, a new starter fixed that problem

Support the car very securely first of all

Remove the negative cable from the battery

Remove the wires from the starter

Remove the two bolts from the starter going upward to the engine block

Wiggle the starter out

Reverse this proceedure to reinstall

what about your antitheft system i have seen lots of ign key cylinders go bad and cannot read the keys resistance

Under hood, center, rear engine area, passenger side of blower motor, mounted on upper firewall That should help you fix your vehicle

disconnect neg batt cable. as required remove nuts from a/c compressor and eng brace, adjacent to starter, if neessary. remove nut from eng cross brace. using a pry bar between upper eng mount and eng pry rerward and support eng.if nessary remove oil filter, air induction tube and cooling fan. Disconnect wiring at starter, and (note!!!!)position. good luck

that's not much info to go on, but that particular model is known for having loose starter ignition switch wire at starter
