It could be air locked. Feel both your heater hoses, and, with the engine running, loosen the one that's cold, if there is one. If that doesn't help, it is probably your heat control valve that is malfunctioning.

Heater not working 2002 ford taurus

Sounds like temp control valve is not working properly, or there is air in the cooling system, or the cooling sytem needs to be flushed. First thing to check for is air. Is the coolant level low? Also look in top of radiator while engine is cold and running to see if the coolant is moving and does it look dirty/sludgey.

Heat blows cold air-no heat

first check to see if your heater hoses are getting warm you may just have a bad thermostat, if you've had any recent work done to the cooling system you may have an airlock which does not allow any coolant too flow through the heater core. do you smell antifeeze ?

Heater blows out cold air when on the warm setting ,possibly a plugged heater core

yes this is very likely the problem, have you check your cooling system is it rusty? if so the heater core is plugged, take the inlet and outlet hoses off the core at firewall and use a garden hose to clear it, then have the cooling system flushed if rusty.

Heater

Have the cooling system flushed or remove the hoses from the firewall(when cool) and blow out heater core with compressed air-clogged heater core..
