Where is the fuel filter located on the 2000 Lincoln LS?

The fuel pump is more than likely located in the gas tank. Call up the dealership and ask them where it is or your local auto parts store.

Remove left front tire

Remove 4 plastic push pins
on fender liner

The filter is under there next to
where there drivers feet would be inside

Push on blue fuel line release

Have a drain pan under it


The pressure isn't an issue
just pull back the line slowly

my 2000 lincoln ls v8 runs great however sometimes it will stall at idle what could be causing this.

The fuel filter is behind the driver's side wheel. Here is the procedure....

1. Before servicing the vehicle, please familiarize yourself with safety procedures.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
4. Remove the left front wheel well rear splash shield.
5. Disconnect the fuel tube quick release fittings from both sides of the fuel filter.
6. Remove the fuel filter bracket mounting bolt, fuel filter bracket, and the fuel filter.

To install:

1. Install or connect the following:
   
   Fuel filter into the bracket making sure the flow direction is correct. Tighten the clamp to 15-25 inch lbs. (2-3 Nm). Fuel lines. Tighten the fittings to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
   
2. Tighten the bracket bolts to 62 inch lbs. (7 Nm).
3. Start the engine and check for leaks.

there are diagrams try looking at the book that came with the car or look under the hood for it some where near the front, if this dosnt work try going to a website or autozone and buy the book for the car

That is instructions for an older model. I'm going to change the filter either today or tomorrow on my '05 LS. If I find out anything else when I install mine, I'll let ya know.

Check the fuel filter and fuel pump.

To relive the fuel pressure look under hood on drivers side front of engine locate the fuel line where it goes into the fuel rail,trace it back a little ways and you will see a schrader valve for checking fuel pressure. Remove the plastic cap and take something like a small screw driver and press the pin in center to release pressure.
To replace fuel filter you have to remove left front wheel and inner plastic fender panel and fuel filter is located behind this at the back area.

it should be located close to the rear fuel tank but will require a special tool to remove the quick disconnects from the  fuel line
