these use special oil I would use Mobil DELVAC1 1 5w40. Your owners manual should specify the VW spec. It will list something like spec.VW505.00 If it does not meet spec VW505.00 do not put it in you rcar. Although if you just bought it, who knows what oil has been used.

Yes. But you need to use the proper oil. Mobil 1 or Kendall Synthetic, or other oil that meets the spec. It has to meet GM6094 or the latest spec. Your owners manual will list the spec. The oil life is based on a oil that meets spec, not just any 5w30.

They are idiots, the filter has directions on it, turn it until it touches the block, then go 3/4 to 1 full turn more. Make sure you put oil on the gasket. You would be better off to do it yourself before they mess something up. Any tech who asks for torque specs for the oil filter should not be even driving a car, much less changing the oil in it.
