You could have a bad oil pump. Even though the engine has oil, if the pump is bad, oil pressure will be low, hence the oil light. The tapping could be hydraulic lifters not working correctly because of low oil pressure, or the failed oil pump. See a mechanic ASAP. At a bare minimum, he can run a computer code scan to see if there is something detected by the onboard computer.
It has low oil pressure. The tapping sound is the sound of the hydraulic valve lifters not getting enough oil.
Replace the oil and the oil filter. Make sure to put in at least 4 quarts of oil (check manual to see how much is required). I suggest using oil designed for high mileage cars.
If it still does this you probably need to replace the oil pump which is a job for a mechanic.
Variable valve timing (vvt-i) works with oil pressure, if your oil is dirty or low it would set this code, if somebody did a big engine job and use too much silicon base gasket that gasket can travel all the way to oct filter and clog it, starving the vvt gear.
solution check the oil level and condition
Low put some to the right level.
dirty and heavy do a couple oil changes, code still there, ask your mechanic to clean the oct filter and check the vvt actuator for debris .
it is a combanation of both low oil level =low oil pressure check your oil level and make sure it is on the full mark and drive it to see how pressure is it could also be the oil pressure sending unit good luck
could be a malfunction of the oil pressure switch or u have not change the oil in time for some time and is sludged inside yuor engine, oil gets muddy (burn) it looks like is oil in it but is not
