Airbag light - I cleaned the carpet in my 2001 caravan (by removing it to pressure wash it). To do this I took the seats (w/airbags)out disconnecting the terminals under the seats. I didn't disconnect the battery, I may have turn the key on in the midst of the process also. The airbag light is on but I can't pull any codes. I've disconnected the + & - battery terminals in an attempt to turn the light off to no avail. I rechecked the connecters which appeared to be seated properly. What can I do to solve the problem?

By turning the key on with the seats removed you have put a code into the airbag module.
A good scan tool CAN RESET the airbag module in your vehicle back to factory settings..

SOURCE: On my 1999 Grand Caravan, battery ,airbag & oil pressure stay on.

Sounds like a steering column that is not grounded or if that is ok then you have a recall for the steering clockspring as for the battery light check your charging system

SOURCE: ABS, airbag lights on; Horn does not work

this is likely a failed clock spring and will require some special tools adn knowledge to fix. it is located in teh steering column and requires removal of air bag module.

SOURCE: Airbag dash light

You can reset the light by disconnecting the battery fro 15 minutes and then reconnecting it. If the light comes back on you will have to go to the dealer for a fix. A general scanner will give you a code with a generic description of the problem but to have it fixed right you need to unfortunately bring it in.

SOURCE: 1997 Dodge Caravan Horn and Airbag light

It's the " clock spring " . Dodge has a lifetime recall / replacement on this part. Somehow it controls the air bag and is tied into the horn and cruise control .

SOURCE: Airbag light comes on intermittently for 2002 Grand Caravan

Makes sense if that is what code was stored in the Occupant Restraint Module. There are sensors in the seatbelts now.

I disconnected the wires under seat to remove seat when replacing air blower , now my airbag light is on , how do I reset it

It should reset automatically if the plugs were reconnected properly
When I took the seats out on mine and put them back in the airbag fault light came on because the steering wheel airbag went faulty
So one of the other airbags or seatbelt tensioners is showing a fault only way to find out which is to get the fault codes read to find what it is that's unhappy

So it could be one of the other bags has had ahissy fit so get the fault codes read to find which one is faulty or poorly connected

2001 pontiac grand am air bag module reset

Yes!!! You can replace it yourself.(Dont let others fool you into paying extra or telling you otherwise.)
-This is for pontiac grand ams 1999-2005 only.
-There are no frontal airbag impact sensors nor are there belt tensioners.
-The SRS system consists of only the (driver airbag) ,(passanger airbag),and the (airbag control module) in 1999-2005 grand ams.

If you crash/wrecked and airbags deployed you will need.
-Driver and Passanger airbags
-Airbag control module

You can buy cheap airbags from a local junkyard any year from 1999-2005 will fit.
You can also find an airbag control module for cheap at your local junk yard BUT YOU MUST FIND ONE WITH THE SAME (PART NO.) AND (SERV NO.) AS THE ONE YOUR REPLACING.The (part no.) and (serv no.) should be at top left of airbag control module. However it does (Not) have to match numbers under barcode or the numbers at the far bottom right of airbag control module.

After you get both airbags and airbag module
-Disconnect car Battery
-Replace airbags
-Replace airbag module (under passanger seat)
-Double check all connections and connect battery.

Congradulations!Your airbags should be back online.

Notes: Two torx 35 head screws hold the driver airbag, access is through two holes behind steering column.
To remove passanger airbag you have to remove glovebox it uses (7mm)screws.After you remove you will see a pair of (10mm)screws holding airbag.
To remove airbag control module First remove passanger seat 2(15mm).Then after removing you will notice a raises area kinda like a vertical bump.Take a razor blade to your carpet and cut it to explose the module underneath.
The airbag module is held by three screws depending on the year of your car it varies. Most likely 3 (10mm).

The most inexpensive method is to us CRC contact clear to clean the contacts on the buckle.

WARNING: this is a strong chemical and it will emit odor and stain carpet and leather.

Removing seat fitted with airbag from a 2001 Renault Clio

It is best that you disconnect the negative battery terminal while disconnecting & removing or reinstalling the seat.

Be sure to ground yourself by touching metal when going to unplug any harness in a computer controlled vehicle to prevent static discharge. (the airbag is connected throught the harness you are removing and any spark that would hit that wire, could trigger the airbag to deploy)
good luck

Remove the ftont seats for carpet replacement on 2002honda odys

Disconnect the battery ground cable -- wait 30 minutes for capacitors to discharge. Then be very gentle when working with components of the airbag system.

Remove front seats to clean carpet

there are four (torx) T-40 screws on the four corners of the seat rails. Then disconnect the connectors under the seat and the seats can be removed.(Make sure that the key is off and out of the car before disconnecting the connectors under the seats.) If the key is turned on when a seat is disconnected then the airbag light will be illuminated and the airbags on that seat or both seats can be deactivated.

Remove d/s airbag

disconnect the battery, then find the air bag plug normally under the seat or around side of the seat, maybe under the carpet *bright orange cable*

once you have disconnected the battery and the cable start taking the steering wheel apart and remove it, after market steering wheel will be needed unless your just going to cut the air back out and re fit the wheel, do not connect the air bag cable, you will have a dash light on the dash for air bag doing this though.
