The 4 wheel drive with a turn knob control will

I have a 2007 Silverado 2500. The 4 wheel drive with a turn knob control will not go in during cold weather. The light blinks for a long time then says it's in but the front wheels will not pull. It's been a wet year here and I use it often for short periods. The 4 low has never worked good but since it's turned cold it wont go in 4 high until it warms to 45 degrees.

Take the four wheel drive actuator out of the front differential let it hang while still plugged in and have somebody watch and see if it retracts when the 4 whell drive is switched from 2 to 4 whell drive. If not then accuator is probably bad.

Testimonial: "You nailed it. Drove truck to shop under waranty, asked them to check it and they replaced the accuator, 4/wheeling again. Now I know, thanks."

A common Siverado problem are ground connections underneath the drivers door. There's a group of 3 or 4 wires that bolt into the frame and the wire that grounds the front diff actuator breaks from stress.

Plenty of inet videos showing location and methods to fix.

Can a Dodge Ram 1500 4-wheel drive vehicle get stuck in 4-wheel drive mode during extremely COLD weather?

Yes. The actuator motor can get stuck on the transfer case. You could wait for warmer weather or try tapping on the actuator with a hammer, lightly, to get it to disengage.

Ecs light on 2011 HHR LS and low power

ECS is electronic controlled stability. It works with traction control when it is slippery and it does cause what you describe. It reduces the power to the engine and drive train. IT could be from ice build up on wheel sensors.

Cause
This condition may be caused by a false reading during off-road driving or in high slush conditions.

Correction
Do This - Reprogram the HVAC control module.
Don't Do This - Do not replace the coolant level sensor, HVAC control module or radiator surge tank.

A revised calibration has been developed to address this condition. well typically is there is a noise when making a turn its caused by a bad cv-joint but if your having problems with the 4 wheel drive i would look at the linkage to the transfer case and make sure there is not to much play or bent or broke rods and stuff.

Airbag warning lite blinks 6 times when starting then comes on but goes off intermittently while driving returning on at no particular interval. This just started today. In a 20 mile trip went on and off...

When the airbag light is on it means a fault has occurred in the system and the airbag diagnostic monitor has disabled the system, the most common problem that turns the light on is a break in the connection to the steering wheel mounted airbag, this is due to a rotating ribbon contact that breaks under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the wiring harness and the diagnostic monitor, the part is called th clock spring contact, a coiled up ribbon electrical contact that turns with the wheel
