Could be fuel system, exhaust or a computer problem, the latter is the likely suspect, depending on mileage. Should check all sensor connections, maybe one vibrated loose and is not connected to send code.

When I drive and park. About 30 min. The car will start . Engine runs to about 500 RPM then dies. In about 15 min. it starts up . This has happened twice in one week. I have a Digital code reader . But no...

No year make or model. But, clean the throttle body inside and the idle air control motor. Mass air flow sensor if you have on. Use a brush and brake clean. But don't use a brush on the MAF sensor, just spray both sides. This should help. The car computer learns your driving habits. So if this is what you drive, 15 and 30 minutes. I would reset the computer. Pull the battery cable off the battery for 30 minutes. Puts it back to factory defaults.

The fuel pressure sounds too low. Is it multi-port injection? Check the fuel pressure against your specs for the car and engine. MPFI systems usually require 40-50 psi.

2000 vw cabrio runs normal and shuts down, takes 5 to 20 minutes to restart, engine cranks but doesnt start, changed ignition coil, pulled diagnostic codes getting short to ground codes on cylinder...

On some models, the Engine Control unit has a power supply relay. These relays some times get internal dry solder points. After driving for some time the the solder will get hot and separate. When it cools down it makes contact again. You will have to replace this relay or open it up and re- solder the solder joints. The relay is usually located on the main relay station in position 3. the relay station is located behind the right dash panel.[right hand drive vehicles]. You may need to refer to a manual for your specific model to find the exact location of the relay.

Fuel pressure intermittently drops causing sputter and die.

check for 12v constant at your fuel pump if you are not getting that replace your relay.
if you are getting 12 volts at your fuel pump the fuel pump is possible to run tuel it gets warm then shut down to a lower rpm I would then replace the fuel pump

2000 VW Beetle dies occasionally and won't start for a while

run a scan tool on it and make sure there are no codes, if there is codes address those problems first, if no codes.. next time it won't start check for fuel preasure. it is probably a fuel pump getting ready to go out or they may be a large amount of something other than gas clogging the pick-up sock at bottom of fuel pump.

Hard to start when 30 degress or less out.

Engine coolant sensor and Intake air sensor bad -----tech terms( ECT and IAT) The way to check these you need to hook up a scan tool to the cars computer and both of the readings for these sensor should read the same. If reading is off by 2 degrees that's ok not too off. And it should be in the morning before you start your car up. Thats the time you check it. hope this help
