Our 2003 Corolla was hit in the front and the air bags deployed. The front is fixed and the car works great. We could not afford to replace the air-bags. The problems is that the front seat belts are stuck and will not release. Can they be reset without replacing the air-bags and modules? Thanks,
Mark

That is the only sensor to trigger the bags. The new module needs to be programmed to the car by the dealer or someone with a scan tool capable of that.

First you got to check the conections to the module otherwise contact :http://www.myairbags.com/ or http://www.airbagsystems.com/index.html

If you are replacing the air bags, you should replace the front left and right crash sensors, the spiral cable under the steering wheel, AND the center air bag sensor, which is in front of the console. If your car has seat-belt pretensioners and force limiters, you may have to replace them also. You will know this if the seat belts are "locked up". If you do not replace all of the parts, you may get a air-bag code, and the air bags may not deploy next time.

You have to disconnect the battery, replace the air bag modules (air bag modules are the things that explode in your face) and the crash sensors and the control unit or module that came with it. Reconnect the battery and the car should start. Hope this is helpful.

the most common cause of the airbag light is a defective rotoating ribbon contact under the steering wheel that connects the airbag to the steering column wiring harness, the contact is called the clock-spring contact.
