    local garage (trustworthy)
I think the back box had a bit more life but could
not get decent connection to middle section,
Do you think this is connected as car has only done
    20 miles since.
Think garage will say its bad luck
    What do you think??
    Thanks

    RE comments on emissiom filter.
my particular version has a particulate emission
filter light ( unlit) which probably eliminates
that but will try and get diagnostic codes.
Anything else that might be of help?
    thanke

Some peugeots use a filter in the exhaust, there is a tank with a nasty chemical under the rear bumper. To be cynical most anti pollution measures increase fuel consumption and often all other pollutants outside the one they try and limit.Where did you get the new exhaust fitted?(local garage, quick fit centre)

See if you can get the codes read, your model often has a particulate filter and all that entails but not allways on the 2,0 HDi, it seems too much of a coincidence to not be connected.

Most likley it was the recent 'repair' dislodged some 'sensor' cable (or maybe didn't fit cable to new .. or some cowboy fitted a box without a sensor ) ..

Anti pollution light on Peugeot 207 vti

If the anti-pollution light on your Peugeot 207 VTi is on, it usually indicates a problem with the vehicle's emission control system. This light may appear in different ways, depending on the model and year of your vehicle, but it usually looks like a picture of an engine with "check" written on it.
Here are some steps you can take to address this issue:
  1. Check the gas cap: A loose or damaged gas cap can cause the anti-pollution light to come on. Make sure the gas cap is tightened securely and that it is not damaged.
  2. Check the oxygen sensor: The oxygen sensor is responsible for monitoring the level of oxygen in the exhaust and adjusting the fuel-to-air ratio. If the sensor is damaged or malfunctioning, it can cause the anti-pollution light to come on. A qualified technician can diagnose and repair the sensor.
  3. Check the catalytic converter: The catalytic converter is responsible for converting harmful pollutants into less harmful gases. If the converter is damaged or malfunctioning, it can cause the anti-pollution light to come on. A qualified technician can diagnose and repair the converter.
  4. Check the air filter: A dirty or clogged air filter can cause the engine to run rich, which can lead to increased emissions and the anti-pollution light to come on. Replace the air filter if necessary.
If none of these steps solve the problem, it is best to consult a qualified mechanic to diagnose and repair the issue

Peugeot 308 1.6vti petrol. i had the message stating check engine oil. so i topped up just an extra half litre or less, now straight away anti pollution fault came up? any help please

Check engine oil could of been triggered by a number of things. Putting in more oil is rarely a cure. You getting poor mileage when that light comes on is more of a clue. When car Computer has what can be many false readings caused by a sensor or a mechanical problem, the computer tries to fix the problem within the range of the sensors ability..i.e more gas or more air, advance timing... slow down water flow to raise coolant temperature. When the problem is beyond the sensors ranges, the computer will go into "limp" mode, which will let the engine run, but all the sensors are not engaged so efficiency is the last thing you will get. You need a real diagnostic apparatus hooked to your engine by a good mechanic, and see if the the compression ratio, valves, injectors etc. are running properly and that also your sensors are functional. Never trust theose handheld units to tell you the truth. They can't diagnose mechanical problems like a valve not closing or a broken ring etc.

Where is the anti pollution filter located in a peugeot 307 petrol

There is no such thing as an anti pollution filter. All modern cars have complicated pollution control devices on them, and unless you know what you are doing and have the specialised test equipment, there is little that you can do yourself. If there is a light on the dash, then you are going to have to take it to a Peugeot mechanic. They will be able to do a diagnostic test using a laptop and hopefully this will narrow the fault down. They will then be able to give you a cost estimate to repair it. It is unlikely you will be able to fix this yourself.
