See if cable to the throttle is okay ....did you try it in all gears ? is it standard or automatic ?..if it's automatic check your transmission fluid ....if it's low top it up ..before checking check to see if it smells like it's burnt ...if it is change the fluid in the transmission in it ...you might have a blown transmission ...let me know what happens ....i will help you out further ...if all else fails ....good luck
On the throttle body there should be a heat sensor ,for the choke .......looks like a little wee coil ...most likely gone ...if you can try and go to your local automotive parts store...they will have a diagram of the choke ,they will know what part is gone ....hope i was some what help ful ...let me know how you made out .....
You might be able to adjust the choke
Better to try and hook it up to a computer ...instead of changing more things un necessarily....

hey its me again in relation to the 1989 honda civic dx hatchback.i replaced the chock heat sensor an found out that it was not bad. i also found out that the chock is working properly. i changed the distributor and the rotor. ive checked the fuel presure sensor on the side of the thottle body the way the repair manuel states. it is also working correctly. ive checked the electrical connections on the MAP sensor and inspected all vacuum hoses leading to or around the throttle body. there were no leaks and im still having problems with it not accelerating. could i get your help once again?
