You need the idle control solenoid replaced. It is the dealer that will fix it for you.

Good luck.

How to clean throttle body on 2005 gmc canyon 3.5l

This problem is commonly caused by a dirty automatic idle speed control valve and throttle valve. Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (do not use carburetor spray cleaner!) from NAPA or Carquest (made by CRC chemicals) and spray it into the air intake while the engine is running, use up about 1/2 the can, engine will try to stall hold the speed up, shut it down and let it soak for 30 minutes, restart and blow out the remaining fluid, shut it down and disconnect the negative battery cable for 5 Min's to reset the base idle control

My GMC canyon truck 2006 is running very rough. I did a diagnostic test at the part store, and the codes P0300, P0017, P0068, came up. The dash control panel says reduced power.

Code 300 is for a random miss, code 17 is for a problem with the timing between the cam and crank sensors, and code 68 is a problem between where the throttle position sensor is and the amount of air coming into the throttle body.
You may need to research the trouble codes to get the testing procedures. You may also need a scanner to do the tests.

My 2005 gmc canyon has an eratic idle problem and obdII scanner came up with these codes and i dont have the code manual anymore 300,506,8207,6505,9300

P0300 random misfire, P0506 Idle control lower than expected, 8207,6505,9300 these are GM codes will the use P0300 and P0506. Here is the solution GM canyon and colorado are plaque with camshaft solenoid plugging up,weather you maintance the vehicle like a religion or you dont the camshaft postion solenoid gets plug and causes rough idle every where. Here is your fix there are time I have succesfully cleaned the out with a carburator cleaner or engine cleaner and reenstalled and it worked, there are time I ran I with a engine oil flush and It worked, you gor 2 options take it out and clean it out,and put it back in(clean the oil ports of the solenoid).or run a engine oil flush with a oil change. Now why did this happen and what are the camshaft postion for.It for emmission it took place of the EGR has nothing to do with performance just emmission and headaches

What does the code 172 mean for a 2005 GMC Canyon?

it means that your fuel is running too rich, and needs more oxygen for a cleaner burn. i think that your oxygen sesor may be faulty, but have autozone run the trouble codes for you,and see what exact part is bad.

Code po506 shows up how do i fix it

This P0506 code is one that's sometimes triggered on vehicles that have electronic throttle control. That is, they don't have a regular throttle cable from the accelerator pedal to the engine. They rely on sensors and electronics to control the throttle. In this case, the P0506 DTC (diagnostic trouble code) is triggered when the PCM (powertrain control module) detects an engine idle speed that is lower than the desired (pre-programmed) RPM.
Causes:
A P0506 DTC trouble code may be caused by one or more of the following:
· A vacuum leak
· An air restriction in the intake
·
· air path or exhaust
· A faulty positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve
· Damaged/failed/dirty throttle body
· Internal engine problem
· Failed PCM

This DTC is more of an informational code, so if there are any other codes set, diagnose them first. If there are no other codes, inspect for vacuum leaks, restrictions, and damage. If there are no symptoms other than the DTC itself, just clear the code and see whether it returns
