At 4am my horn went off until I disconnected my battery and reconnected my battery and now my horn and my panic button horn is not working. Is this something I can do at home? I checked the fuses. Its a 2003 Grand Am Se . When I pushed the panic button I heard clicking and the lights did flash. Help!! Please
The under the hood fuse box has the relay and fuse in there. it is fuse # 43 abd it is a blue 15 amp fuse. check that and if that is okay the relay may have failed due to the extended operation also check it.
if the fuses are good i would test the relay with another one like it that is in the fuse block and if that still don't work then yes a new horn is what you need. but i would test or try another relay first.
yes and no. getting to it in the front bumper area is the biggest pain but once you are there it is a breeze! good luck

FOB???? Finger operated button? OK then, where is that? I would like to fix this problem before I send it in for inspection. I have a 2003 not 2001 as stated in my original quesiton. If I just need a new horn is it cheap enough for the inspection mechanics to do it or can I save money by doing it myself and I can I be sure that I need a new horn. Is there some kind of test I can do? I tried the relays and fuses and no horn via steering wheel or panic button (just clicks when I hit the panic button)on my remote keyless entry thing on my key ring.
Thanks
Checked all fuses, to no avail. Is there anything else I can do or should I assume I need a new horn kit?
Thanks for the help.....Is a new horn kit easy to put in for someone who is mechanically inclined?
I will let you know if it works! Thanks
